Dyrachyo: “Daxak is a complete noob” – VP Drop Out of EWC Without a Single Win
The first day of the Elimination Stage has ended, and the first four teams have been sent out of the event.
Despite putting up a decent fight against top-tier opposition, Execration dropped the ball in their series against Xtreme Gaming, where they suffered a 0-2 loss. The second game was back-and-forth, but the Chinese squad outmaneuvered their opponents in late-game fights to win the series.
Heroic was able to take maps off of Team Liquid and PARIVISION in Group D, two of the strongest teams coming into the event. However, they couldn’t replicate that performance in the series against Talon Esports. The Southeast Asian squad played better on all fronts and eliminated the promising Heroic roster from the event.
Shopify Rebellion looked like they were going to comfortably win the first map against Team Yandex, having taken two lanes of Barracks. However, Team Yandex pulled off a miraculous comeback fight to claw their way back in. After 72 minutes, Team Yandex got the job done and stole the first map.
Shopify Rebellion couldn’t recover from their fumble, and looked all over the place on the second map. Team Yandex easily won the game in 33 minutes to sweep the series.
The final matchup of the day featured Team Falcons and Virtus.pro. Though Team Falcons were the clear favorites, Virtus.pro failed to put on a show, as they were destroyed on both maps. This meant Virtus.pro did not win a single map, going 0-8 throughout the event.

“I watched Virtus.pro play – it's just awful. They do everything disgustingly. Daxak is a complete noob, lorenof doesn't give a sh*t about the game. V-Tune is trying something, but makes really stupid mistakes. I have nothing against them, but they play like crazy crayfish. You watch them and want them to show something, maybe not even win, but at least something..."
The Elimination Stage continues tomorrow, where four more teams will be eliminated from the event.
The Esports World Cup 2025 is a $3,000,000 tournament taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 16 teams compete from July 8 to 19.
