XG Withdraw From Riyadh Because Owner Thinks The Team Is Not Good Enough
Xtreme Gaming’s owner Yang Yiqing was furious about the team’s performance at DreamLeague Season 26. He announced the team will withdraw from the Esports World Cup 2025 after qualifying for the event last week.
In a string of posts, Yang Yiqing mentioned the following (translated):
“Can a team that can’t even get out of the group stage represent CN Dota? Is this a joke? A joke among jokes, a real joke!
Hahaha, do you really think we can go to Riyadh??? It is better to die in glory than to live in shame.
XG will drop out of Riyadh, Tidebound will take that spot if they can. We won’t be participating!”
At the time of writing, the Chinese squad is yet to win a series in the DreamLeague Season 26 Group Stage, maintaining a 4-8 record with four draws and two losses. They are almost guaranteed elimination unless they can miraculously secure a tiebreaker.
