ESL and DreamHack announced a format of DPC Season 2 qualifiers
Tournament operators ESL and DreamHack, organizing Regional Leagues from Valve in the CIS and Europe, have announced the dates and format for the DPC Season 2 qualifiers.
The open DPC Season 2 qualifiers in the CIS and Europe will be held from March 13 to 16. In total, the organizers will hold 2 rounds of open qualifiers, where the teams will play in the Single-Elimination bracket. In the CIS, 3 strongest teams will advance from each round to the closed qualifiers, in Europe - 4 teams.
The closed qualifiers will be held from March 18 to 21. Eight teams will compete for two Lower Divisions' slots in the Double-Elimination bracket. Except for the winners of the open qualifiers, B8 and VP.Prodigy, who were eliminated from the Lower Division in the first season, will take part in the CIS closed qualifiers. There were no such teams in Europe due to disqualifications.
The second season of the Dota Pro Circuit Regional Leagues, where teams will compete for tickets to the June Major, will run from April 13 to May 23.
