News

The 24 participants for the $1,000,000 Elite League tournament have been decided. 14 teams received direct invitations, while the remaining 10 qualified through their respective regional qualifiers. The tournament will run from March 31 to April 15 in an Online format.

Direct Invites

Here are the teams that were invited by the tournament organizers:

Qualified Teams

Teams fought through open and regional qualification from seven different regions.

Western Europe

Teams to qualify from WEU:

With most of the competition in the WEU region already getting invitations, it would be a massive disappointment if Entity failed to go through the qualifier. Though it was a rocky journey, Entity could win first place.

Rest Farmers, a new stack, was knocked down to the Lower Bracket after a narrow loss to Entity. They battled through elimination matches, defeating MOUZ in the Consolidation Final to claim the second slot.

Southeast Asia

Teams to qualify from SEA:

Blacklist International, fielding a new roster with their Peruvian import, Mjz, have looked much better. They cruised through the Upper Bracket, taking down Bleed Esports and Team Darleng 2.0 to qualify.

On the other hand, Talon Esports managed to lose to Team Darleng 2.0 in the second round of the Upper Bracket. In the Lower Bracket, they went through Geek Fam and won the rematch against Team Darleng 2.0 to represent Southeast Asia.

Eastern Europe

Team to qualify from Eastern Europe:

All the top dogs in Eastern Europe had already been invited to the tournament, so it was time for teams like 9 Pandas, Yellow Submarine, 1win, and the L1ga Team to prove themselves. Though these teams made it to the top four, Yellow Submarine and 9 Pandas were surprisingly the two teams to reach the Grand Final.

After 91-minute and 77-minute games, 9 Pandas could take the series 3-1 against Team Spirit’s academy team to win the qualifier.

China

Team to qualify from China:

The competition in the Chinese region wasn’t too fierce, with the exception of Team Zero and a new stack, KEV, which both made it to the Grand Final. The final series was tight and went all three maps, but old eLeVeN and his new crew managed to clinch the series to win 3-2.

South America

Team to qualify from South America:

Heroic has been gatekeeping tournament slots in the South American region. Since Davai Lama and company have already been invited, BOOM Esports could finally take their chance to prove themselves. They went through the entire SA qualifier dropping zero maps, taking down AcatSuki and beastcoast to claim the one regional slot.

North America

Team to qualify from North America:

As expected, with no other notable teams, Nouns came into the North American qualifier with expectations to dominate. They steamrolled through the bracket and won the Grand Final 3-1 against Legacy. It is worth noting that Nouns recruited a Mid Laner, Copy, from Germany.

MENA

Team to qualify from MENA:

Now that their main oppositions, PSG Quest and Team Falcons have been invited to the tournament, the only team stopping Nigma Galaxy from qualifying to their first event was Winter Bear. It’s about time that KuroKy and the guys found their form, which they did after defeating Winter Bear 3-0 in the Grand Final.

Now, all 24 teams have been determined in the Elite League tournament. Only two weeks before the tournament begins!
