Dota 2 average online is growing for 5 months
The average Dota 2 player count continues to rise for the 5th month in a row. Since April 2021, the number of players has grown from 390,000 to 425,000. However, at the same time, the peak online has decreased slightly over the last month. Full stats are available on Steam Charts.
The last time Dota 2 showed positive online growth for 5 months in a row from October 2015 to February 2016. Then the average online grew from 521,000 to 709,000.
The current growth of the game's online users is directly related to the activities conducted by Valve. For example, in March 2021, the animated series DOTA: Dragon's Blood was released on the streaming service Netflix. After that, there were 2 major Esports LAN tournaments – One Esports Singapore Major and WePlay AniMajor 2021. Also, in the Dota 2 client, there was an in-game event called "Nemestice." And in October, Romania will host the anniversary of The International.
